Hi, I’m Atharva.
software engineer,
building thoughtful software.

I build data platforms and backend systems that ingest, move, and make sense of billions of records. Currently working on blockchain data infrastructure at Circle.

About

A little about me

I’m a software engineer focused on data platforms and backend systems: the layer that quietly moves billions of records around and keeps everything else honest. I’ve been at Circle since 2021, where I work on blockchain ingestion, observability, and the pipelines that keep USDC reconciliation accurate.

Before Circle, I did a Master’s at UMBC where my thesis was on explainable-AI for lung-cancer CT scans, and a stint at LibraX building ML-backed ID verification.

Most days I’m writing Python or Java, drawing boxes-and-arrows on a whiteboard, or arguing with Kubernetes. Off-hours, usually cooking, traveling, or chasing a side project that may or may not ever ship.

Where I’ve worked

  1. Software Engineer II · Circle Internet Financial

    Jan 2023 - Present

    Remote

Building the data infrastructure that powers blockchain ingestion at Circle. Shipped a multi-threaded ingestion framework, OpenTelemetry/Datadog observability, a custom Cosmos client for USDC reconciliation, and a refactor of the RDS pipeline that pushed data availability to 99%. Mentor junior engineers through weekly technology deep dives.

  2. Software Engineer · Circle Internet Financial

    Jul 2021 - Dec 2022

    Remote

Shipped 70+ data pipelines into Snowflake with automated DDL generation, rolled out role-based access control across the warehouse, and built a ML gateway to AWS SageMaker that helped catch fraudulent card payments at $1M+/quarter scale.

  3. Machine Learning Engineer Intern · LibraX.ai

    Feb 2021 - Mar 2021

    Baltimore, MD

Designed and shipped LibraX's ID-verification API in a month: a Flask service blending ML and fuzzy logic on Azure (API Management, Containers, Key Vaults, Table & Blob storage). Optimized the fuzzy search path for low latency and integrated Auth0 for custom JWT tokens.

  4. Research Assistant · University of Maryland, Baltimore County

    Jan 2020 - May 2021

    Baltimore, MD

Thesis: "Lung Nodule Segmentation for Explainable AI Cancer Screening." Built a CT-scan analysis pipeline combining U-Net segmentation with graph-based nodule identification, integrated with an explainable classifier for malignancy and biomarker prediction on the LIDC dataset.
